Alexia Dehoyos is a dedicated Recruitment Coordinator for the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS), based in Ketchikan. Originally from Houston, Texas, Alexia made the exciting move to Ketchikan in August 2022 and has quickly become an integral part of the AMHS team. Since starting her role in February, Alexia has been passionate about supporting and managing all recruitment efforts for AMHS, ensuring that the organization attracts and retains top talent.

Outside of her professional life, Alexia enjoys exploring the beautiful Alaskan beaches with her two dogs, Sage and Barry. She also has a creative side, spending her free time making jewelry. Her blend of skills, enthusiasm, and love for her new community make her a valuable asset to the team.

Jennifer Gray is an experienced Recruitment Coordinator for MSCVC, based in Anchorage. With over 13 years of service with the State of Alaska, Jennifer brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. She spent three years working with the Department of Labor’s AKOSH in Administration, and the past ten years with the Department of Transportation, specializing in Oversize/Overweight Permitting for MSCVC.

Passionate about streamlining processes, Jennifer is excited about the new permit program her team is developing, which promises to enhance efficiency and service delivery. Curt Rogers

Fairbanks International Airport Recruitment Coordinator

Curt Rogers serves as the Recruitment Coordinator for Fairbanks International Airport, bringing a rich blend of legal, human resources, and public service experience to the role. Prior to joining FAI, Curt spent nine years as a Legal Administrator and HR Coordinator with Rogers Law Group, LLC. His career also includes work as a Ranger at Denali National Park, with the State of Alaska’s Division of Public Assistance, and service in the 168th Alaska Air National Guard, from which he is now retired.

Curt holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alaska and a Master of Arts from Johns Hopkins University. His wide-ranging professional background and strong interpersonal skills make him a valuable asset to the Alaska International Airport System, where he supports recruitment strategies and hiring efforts.

Shelly Saviers is a Recruitment Coordinator for the ASD in Juneau. A lifelong Juneau resident, Shelly has over 25 years of experience working with the Department of Transportation.

Shelly is married and has four sons, two daughters-in-law, and a delightful 8-month-old granddaughter. Outside of work, she’s been a group fitness instructor at the Alaska Club for decades and enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Shelly loves reading, hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing. Despite her recent ankle replacement, she still enjoys dancing, cruise vacations with her husband, and adventurous trips.

Jessica Miller

Facility Services Recruitment Coordinator

Jessica Miller is the Recruitment Coordinator for Facility Services within the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities. A lifelong Alaskan, Jessica brings a strong background in people-centered leadership, having joined DFS in 2019 after managing an assisted living facility for five years.

Known for her creativity and energy, Jessica balances her professional role with a passion for adventure and making. She and her three children spend much of the summer camping and four-wheeling across Alaska, and they’ve made it a tradition to visit a new country every year—crossing 12 countries off their family bucket list so far.

When not traveling, Jessica enjoys crafting and hands-on design projects, diving into everything from laser cutting and sublimation to CNC work. Her enthusiasm, resourcefulness, and commitment to service make her a valued member of the Facility Services team.

Teodore Odena

Teodore Odena is the Recruitment Coordinator for the Central Region and Statewide Aviation, based in Anchorage. Having lived in Alaska for the past 19 years, Teo graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a degree in mathematics.

Before joining the team, Teo worked for the Alaska Department of Fish & Game’s Division of Commercial Fisheries for 9.5 years, focusing on the Arctic-Yukon-Kuskokwim region. His role involved managing recruitment, payroll, and personnel issues.

In his free time, Teo enjoys hiking, camping, cross-country skiing, and exploring the great outdoors. He is excited to bring his experience and enthusiasm to the Central Region and Statewide Aviation and looks forward to working with everyone.

Justin Gundersen

Data Modernization & Innovation Recruitment Coordinator

Please welcome Justin who is the new Administrative Operations Manager for the newly built DMIO Team. Justin has worked for the State of Alaska for about 10 years in several different roles. For the past 6 years, he has been working in the social services fields, administratively managing the Southeast operations for the Office of Children’s Services, along with managing a number of directives for Senior and Disabilities Services, where he also administratively managed the Alaska Commission on Aging and the Governor’s Council on Disabilities and Special Education. Besides those roles, a few folks may remember Justin as he also filled a couple roles here at DOT, primarily as a College Intern.

Justin’s hobbies are basically anything outdoors, this includes hiking, fishing, camping, or any other fun adventures. During the winter he tends to hibernate and enjoys spending a good chunk of time at the Alaska Club.

Other than that, Justin likes to spend time with family and friends, and he really enjoys traveling and seeing new places.

Chell Nugent

Project Delivery Recruitment Coordinator

Chell Nugent is the Recruitment Coordinator for Statewide Project Delivery at the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities. She began her career with the department in January 2024 as an Administrative Assistant 1 in Statewide Design, where she supported engineering teams and gained firsthand knowledge of project delivery operations.

In her current role, Chell supports recruitment efforts across statewide project teams, helping attract and hire the skilled professionals who plan, design, and deliver Alaska’s transportation infrastructure. Her experience within Statewide Design gives her a strong understanding of the technical and operational needs of the division, and she is committed to building a workforce that supports DOT&PF’s mission across Alaska.
